Collector's
Go Boy is
an outstanding muscular black tobiano stallion, with
beautiful flowing gaits and a kind willing
temperament. He has a gentle disposition which he
has passed on to his offspring.
Collector is an
outstanding horse. He is the most handsome spotted TWH,
or for that matter any spotted horse, that I have ever
seen! In addition, he has a temperament to match. He
stands 15:1 hands, with a muscular and well proportioned
body and a lot of over-stride.
One of the most
appealing aspects about him is his calm disposition. I
have taken him to clinics, trail rides, shows, etc. and
everyone is surprised that he is a stallion because he
is usually the best behaved.
My first meeting
with Collector was in 2000, about 8 months before he
came to Blue Haven Farms. I purchased a Final
Edition mare, which I still have, that was bred to
him and foaled in May. The colt, Collector’s
Starfire Bandit, was the perfect beginning to my
foray into breeding TWH’s. A week earlier a friend’s
mare had a filly, out of Collector, which I brought
to Blue Haven also.
Sommer Temptation remains one of my favorite
horses and broodmares.
Anyway,
circumstances presented me with the opportunity to
purchase Collector and a Hard Cash mare. I jumped at
the chance for both were outstanding horses. I
have never been disappointed with either, as both
have produced wonderful progeny.
All of Collector’s
foals have been exceptionally friendly. I have
worked very hard to match his conformation with
mares that will compliment him and therefore, if I
do my job right, will have a foal that surpasses
their Sire and Dam in conformation and temperament.
I have not been disappointed.
Collector is also
one of the easiest breeding stallions on the farm.
He is kind, and takes his time and is easy to
collect. We do AI on the farm to limit exposure to
outside bacteria and to reduce that chance of injury
to mare, stallion, and personnel. His sperm count is
very high and has survived in a cooled container for
over 72 hours, which is great for shipped semen.
Collector is retired from the show arena but is still a champion at Blue Haven Farms.
